Regis Track & Field Competes at Wheaton Invitational

NORTON, Mass. – Members of the Regis College track and field team participated in the Wheaton Pre-Postseason Invitational Saturday at Beard Field House.

Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) finished third in the long jump with a season-best mark of 6.33 meters (20' 9.25") accomplished on his final attempt. Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.) ended up right behind Thuotte in fourth place with a mark of 5.94 meters (19' 6"), plus he finished sixth in the 60 meter hurdles finals with a time of 9.07 seconds.

Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) surpassed his previous collegiate-best mark in the weight throw by 1.29 meters, finishing fifth in the event at 13.40 meters (43' 11.75").

In running events, Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) finished seventh overall in the 400 meter dash in 53.25 seconds, while Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) finished eighth in the 1000 meter run in 2:51.73. Zachary Olayiwole (Marlborough, Mass.) posted a time of 24.33 seconds in the 200 meter dash, and Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) completed the 800 meter run in a personal collegiate-best time of 2:15.41.

For the Pride women, Anastazia Copeland (West Hartford, Conn.) finished fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.23 meters (43' 5"), while Tori Bradley (Dracut, Mass.) placed ninth with a collegiate-best mark of 11.74 meters (38' 6.25"). In the shot put, Kristin Barrett (Plymouth, Mass.) finished in 14th place with a throw of 9.53 meters (31' 3.25").

On the track, Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) finished in third place with a time of 10:52.05, just 21/100ths of a second off her collegiate best time established one year ago at the USATF New England Indoor Championships.

Those who qualified are scheduled to compete at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24 and 25, at The Track at New Balance.
