Pride Men’s Track and Field Competitive at Saturday Area Meets

BOSTON/WALTHAM, Mass. - The Regis College men's track and field team continued the 2022-23 indoor season Saturday by participating in both the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University and the Suffolk Ice Breaker Invitational at The Track at New Balance.

Conrad Kalinowski (London, England) broke the school record in the pole vault when he cleared 3.80 meters on his second attempt. After clearing the bar at 3.95 meters on his third attempt, he needed just one opportunity to clear 4.10 meters (13' 5.5") and win the competition over Nate Muller of Wentworth, who also cleared 4.10 meters but on his second attempt.

Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) continued his strong first-year performance, placing fifth in both the long jump with a mark of 6.06 meters (19' 10.75") and the triple jump after posting a mark of 12.30 meters (40' 4.25"). Thuotte also led off the 4x400 meter relay, teaming with Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.), Ben O'Neal (New Britain, Conn.), and Michael Carroll (Lynn, Mass.) for an eighth place finish with an overall time of 4:08.30.

Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) also scored points for the Pride with a sixth place finish in the weight throw with a top mark of 11.92 meters (39' 1.25"), one inch off his personal best. He did post a personal best mark in the shot put at 10.05 meters (32' 11.75"), plus he finished in ninth place in the 60 meter hurdles preliminaries with a time of 9.82 seconds.

Bryce Toumayan-Miller (Natick, Mass.) won his heat of the 200 meter dash with a personal-best time of 24.65 seconds. AJ Corso (Broad Brook, Conn.) finished in ninth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:17.38, and Zach Sigman (Buffalo, N.Y.) earned his collegiate-best time in the 3000 meter run at 10:19.38.

At the Suffolk meet, Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) finishing in 17th place overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:07.54, and Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) ended up third in his heat and 22nd overall in the 400 meter dash at 55.51 seconds.

The Regis College track and field team heads to Tufts University for the Branwen Smith-King Invitational next Saturday, Jan. 21, beginning at 9 a.m.
