Personal Best Times Accomplished at Grinaker Invite

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. ­– The Regis College men's track and field team produced several personal best performances Saturday at the Mary Grinaker Invitational, hosted by Smith College.

Cole Anderson (Falmouth, Maine) produced Regis' best placements of the day, first finishing fourth in the weight throw with a personal best mark of 14.06 meters (46' 1.5"). Anderson also earned a personal best mark in the shot put, ending up seventh in that event at 12.26 meters (40' 2.75").

JJ Pedersen (Milford, Conn.) also posted two personal best marks during the day, starting in the 800 meter run as he won his heat and finished seventh overall with a time of 2:06.78. In the one mile run, Pedersen finished ninth with a personal best time of 4:39.11, followed closely by AJ Corso (Broad Brook, Conn.) in 11th place in 4:41.29.

Nicholas Sahagian (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) posted a personal best time of 9:30.79 in the 3000 meter run, finishing seventh in that event. Spencer Gagnon (Marshfield, Mass.) finished 10th overall in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.18 seconds and 16th overall in the 60 meter dash with a preliminary mark of 7.55 seconds.

Nicholas Pastore (Norwood, Mass.) participated in three individual events during the day, featuring a sixth place finish in the triple jump with a top leap of 11.00 meters (36' 1.25"). He also finished 12th in the 60 meter dash preliminaries with a time of 7.46 seconds and posted a mark of 5.42 meters (17' 9.5") in the long jump.

Regis College continues the indoor track and field season next Saturday, Jan. 25, heading west again for the Massasoit Classic, hosted by Springfield College.
