Pride Track and Field Records Fall In Final Indoor Event

BOSTON - The Regis (Mass.) men's and women's track and field teams competed in their final indoor meet of the season, finishing with a bang at the USATF-New England Indoor Track and Field Championship hosted at Harvard University.

On the women's side, Keegan Duguay (Watertown, Mass.) competed in her second meet in as many days, setting a new Regis record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 9.53 seconds good for an eighth-place finish. Freshman Bernice Boateng (Danielson, Conn.) had quite a day as well, placing seventh in the 60-meter (8.14) and setting a new school record in the process. She also ran a personal best 27.81 in the 200 meters. Elliana Boebel (Bedford, Mass.) was the top finisher on the day, placing third in the shot put.

Four other Pride women's athletes set personal bests. Nicole Church (Apex, N.C.) ran the 800 meters in 2:48, Elisabeth Cooke (East Longmeadow, Mass.) in the shot put (10.24m), Cassandra Froio (Tewksbury, Mass.) in the 200 meters (29.69) and Kylie Homem (Peabody, Mass.) ran the 60 meter hurdles in 11.03 seconds.

Jovan Sematimba (Burlington, Mass.) set a new program record to highlight the afternoon for the Pride men's team, running the mile in 4:43. The day also saw three personal bests set. Sam Mildrum (Hingham, Mass.) ran the 3,000 meters in 9:59, Frank Pelleteri (Freeport, Maine) tossed 8.45 meters in the weight throw and Kyle Gillen-Hughes (Reading, Mass.) ran the mile in 4:56.

Both teams return to action this spring for the outdoor season.
