PRIDE HOSTS ANNUAL CRIMSON & GOLD INTRASQUAD MEET

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's and women's swimming teams held their annual Crimson and Gold intrasquad meet on Friday night in Weston, Mass. Both teams competed against each other, hoping to set record times and qualify for the New England Championships.

Zach Earl (Mexico, N.Y.) set a new record in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 18:18.25, smashing the old men's record by nearly two minutes.

Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.) won the mixed 50 yard backstroke with her time of 33.47 while Sean O'Brien (Westerly, R.I.) took home another win for the Cardinal team with his 33.60 time in the mixed 50 yard breastroke. Yassyra Diaz (Dorchester, Mass.) and Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) also added wins for the Cardinal team in each swimmer's respective 50 yard freestyle.

Graf added a win in the 100 yard freestyle while O'Neil added her second win of the day in the women's 100 yard freestyle. Nick Yerzyk (West Hills, Calif.) won the mixed 100 yard backstroke for the Gold team and Stephen McGovern (Dorchester, Mass.) added another win in the mixed 100 yard breastroke.

Yassyra Diaz took home the mixed 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:12.49, while Alex Caliendo (Windsor, Conn.) won the mixed 50 yard butterfly. Nick Yerzyk rounded out the individual events with his 2:16.96 time in the mixed 200 yard individual medley.

The Cardinal team of Doug Dunbar (Danvers, Mass.), Megan Kennelly (Milford, Mass.), Yassyra Diaz and Alex Graf rounded out the even with their win in the mixed 200 yard freestyle.

The event wrapped up the first semester of action for both teams. The Pride returns to action on January 14th when Regis hosts WPI in a 1:00 p.m. meet.
