Women's Cross Country Places Sixth at GNAC Championships

NORTHFIELD, Vt. –  The Regis College women's cross country team finished sixth overall as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championships took place Saturday, Nov. 2, at Norwich University.

Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) led the Pride with a First Team All-GNAC performance, finishing fifth overall with a six-kilometer time of 25:16.7. Heise shaved over 40 seconds off her previous personal best record for six kilometers of 25:58.4 established at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 14.

Jonnie Charest (Methuen, Mass.) finished the six-kilometer with a time of 27:49.0 in 29th place. Olivia Mmamelu (Waltham, Mass.) also posted a personal best six-kilometer time of 29:13.4.

Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.) completed a personal best in the six-kilometer marking a 29:14.3 final, improving from her previous time of 30:07.10 at the Bruce Kirsh XC Cup on Oct. 11.

Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.) finished the six-kilometer course just behind Kilbride at 29:14.9. Kim Avalo (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished the six-kilometer with a personal best time of 35:34.9.

As a team, the Pride finished sixth with 165 points. Led by Adriana Nadeau (23:51.8), Colby-Sawyer College cruised to the team title with four athletes finishing in the top 15.

Regis College will wrap up the 2024 season at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship, to be held at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H., on Saturday, Nov. 16.
