Women’s Cross Country Earns Second Place at GNACs

STANDISH, Maine – For the second straight year, the Regis College women's cross country team finished second overall as the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championships took place Saturday, Nov. 4, at Saint Joseph's College.

Libby Parker (Bow, N.H.) led the Pride with a First Team All-GNAC performance, finishing seventh overall with a six-kilometer time of 27:58.1. Jonnie Charest (Methuen, Mass.) picked up Second Team All-GNAC honors as she crossed the finish line in 13th place in 28:39.4, one minute quicker than her previous best time for six kilometers.

Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.) finished in 18th place at this event for the second consecutive year, this time completing the course in 29:27.6. Katie Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) posted a personal-best six-kilometer time of 30:27.9 as she ended up in 24th place, her best finish at the conference championships.

Olivia Rosano (Methuen, Mass.) completed her first collegiate six-kilometer race in 29th place with a time of 31:17.2. Caterina Koch (Milford, Mass.), in her first collegiate cross country competition of any length, finished in 32nd place with a time of 31:30.5.

As a team, the Pride finished comfortably in second place with 81 total points. Led by individual champion Adriana Nadeau (25:23.1), Colby-Sawyer College cruised to the team title, placing four runners in the top 11 on its way to the overall GNAC championship.

Regis College will wrap up the 2023 season at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship, to be held at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H., next Saturday, Nov. 11.
