As a Freshman:
Outdoor: Placed 13th (52.09) in the 4x100 relay and 15th (4:17.22) in the 4x400 relay at the New England Outdoor Championships...Won the 4x100 (50.41) and 4x400 (50.41) relay events at the GNAC Championships.

Payton played four years of varsity soccer and track & field at Killingly High School in Killingly, Conn., as well as three years of varsity basketball...was selected All-Eastern Connecticut Conference First Team as a junior and All-ECC Honorable Mention as a sophomore and senior...was named her team's Rookie of the Year as a freshman...named Most Outstanding Offensive Player in soccer and Most Outstanding Defensive Player in basketball...also played two years for club team Spirit of Liverpool FC out of Oxford, Mass.
