REGIS RUNS HARD AT TUFTS SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Regis Track and Field Teams were in action this Saturday at the Tufts Snowflake Classic where they posted a series of strong performances and personal bests.

Distance runners Sarah Schow (Northborough, Mass.) and Owen McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) each knocked several seconds off of their all time records with McQuaid posting a time of 4:50.92 in the 1500m run, and Schow dropping a 21:35.96 in the 5000m.

The Pride sprinters continued the haul of personal bests. In the 100m, Chandler Davies (Hartford, Conn.) ran 11.62 while Alex Tran (Lawrence, Mass.) crossed the line in 12.70. The biggest improvement in the sprints was achieved by Diana Tran (Somerville, Mass.), who knocked over three seconds from her 200m debut performance from the previous week.

Also running well over the shorter distances were Matthew Owens (Boston, Mass.) and Jeremy Israel (Boston, Mass.). Owens jetted to a 11.57 in the 100m which was good for 16th out of eighty four runners, and Israel made his return from injury by throwing down a 51.66 in the 400m

Finally, there were a series of impressive marks and debuts made in the field events. Tori Rapsis (Nashua, N.H.) vaulted over 2.75m, which scored her a fourth place finish in the event, and her teammate Emmanuel Wani (Portland, Maine) started off his jumps career strong by winning his flight in the long jump with a 5.64m mark.

In the throws, Sinclair Fashaw-Braxton (Boston, Mass.) and Regis Swimmer Andy LaForest (Roslindale, Mass.) competed for the first time in both the shot put and the discus.

The Pride are next in action on April 6th at Fitchburg State University.
