Regis Women’s Tennis Loses to USJ

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Regis College lost to University of Saint Joseph, 9-0, Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's tennis dual match at the Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tennis Complex.

Both Regis doubles teams in action picked off games from their opponents, as Harmony Lopez (Carlsbad, N.M.) and Akshita Duvvuri (Chennai, India) won two games in the number one doubles position, while Alexandra Nicholls-Millen (Natick, Mass.) and Shalom Njau (Worcester, Mass.) earned one game in the number two doubles spot.

Lopez was the top player in singles for the Pride, staying with Maddie Rossetti at number two singles before losing in straight sets (6-0, 6-3).

Regis College (0-5, 0-2 GNAC) is scheduled to host UMass Dartmouth Thursday, Sept. 26, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Pride will then welcome Colby-Sawyer College during Regis Fest next Saturday, Sept. 28, for a 12 noon start.
