Women’s Tennis Loses Road Contest

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Regis College lost to Rhode Island College, 9-0, Thursday afternoon in a non-conference women's collegiate tennis dual match at the RIC Tennis Center.

In doubles, the Pride's number one duo of Harmony Lopez (Carlsbad, N.M.) and Akshita Duvvuri (Chennai, India) battled Erica Botelho and Lauren Macera before the Anchorwomen prevailed, 8-3. Lopez also collected the most games for a Regis player in singles, facing Arianna De Thomas in the number one position as De Thomas would win in straight sets (6-3, 6-1).

Regis College (0-3) opens Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play with a home match against Simmons University next Wednesday, Sept. 18, starting at 5 p.m. at the Regis Tennis Courts.
