Women’s Tennis Cruises to GNAC Victory

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College won its second match in as many days, defeating Albertus Magnus College, 9-0, Wednesday evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's tennis match at the Regis Tennis Courts.

The Pride quickly took control of the match during the doubles sets, starting with an 8-0 victory at number two doubles by Nora Connor (Peabody, Mass.) and Harmony Lopez (Carlsbad, N.M.). Kiana Thompson (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and Stephanie Beatrice (Rockland, Mass.) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at number one doubles.

Thompson, Beatrice, Lopez, and Samantha Gevry (Dudley, Mass.) all won their singles contests in straight sets without losing a single game (6-0, 6-0). Gevry completed her match first, followed quickly by Beatrice, Thompson, and Lopez.

Regis College (4-2, 1-1 GNAC) hosts University of Saint Joseph in a key league matchup Saturday, Sept. 30, starting at 1 p.m. as part of Regis Fest. Before the match, Beatrice and Connor will be recognized in a Senior Day presentation.
