NEWPORT, R.I. – The Regis College women's tennis team concluded the 2021-22 season with a 9-0 victory over Salve Regina University Thursday in a non-conference contest at the Leroy Avenue Courts.

All three doubles sets were won by the Pride, with Stephanie Beatrice (Rockland, Mass.) and Kaitlyn Colby (Merrimac, Mass.) in the second position earning the first Regis point of the day with an 8-3 win. Kaeleigh FitzPatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) and Samantha Gevry (Dudley, Mass.) collected their 8-4 victory at number three doubles, followed by Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Lauren Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) with an 8-2 decision at number one doubles.

Gevry won her singles match in the fifth position without losing a game (6-0, 6-0), while FitzPatrick battled through the first set before prevailing and using the momentum to complete her straight-set win (7-5, 6-3).

Beatrice, Lauren Mogelnicki, and Katelyn Mogelnicki also won in straight sets, with Colby rallying back from a first set loss to win the second set, 6-1, and force a super-tiebreaker. She would win the super-tiebreaker, 10-7, to finish the sweep for the Pride.

The Regis College women's tennis team finishes the 2021-22 season with a 10-11 overall record, winning three of its final four contests. In the fall, the Pride went 4-2 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play and advanced to the title match of the GNAC Tournament.
