Women’s Tennis Loses to Adrian College Wednesday

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis College women's tennis team could not rally from an early deficit, losing to Adrian College, 8-1, Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest at the USTA National Campus.

The Pride's lone point was earned by Kaeleigh FitzPatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) at number six singles, as she came back from a 6-4 first set loss to win the second set, 7-5. FitzPatrick would then cruise in the super-tiebreaker, 10-1, to collect the overall victory.

At number five singles, Kaitlyn Colby (Merrimac, Mass.) won the first set, 6-2, but Adrian's Liv Depies rallied to take the second set, 6-3, and a competitive super-tiebreaker, 11-9, to wrap up the team match.

After Adrian swept the doubles sets, losing only two games combined, the Bulldogs maintained their momentum with straight-set victories in the first four singles positions to clinch the overall contest.

Regis College (7-8) returns to the USTA National Campus Thursday, March 3, as the Pride are scheduled to face Concordia-Moorhead College starting at 11:30 a.m.
