Pride Tennis Falls to Conference Leader Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Regis College lost to Colby-Sawyer College, 9-0, Wednesday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's tennis match at the Kelsey Courts.

The Chargers swept the doubles points, winning 8-1 at number one doubles and 8-0 at number two doubles. Colby-Sawyer clinched the overall match with straight-set victories in each of the first four singles positions.

At number five singles, Kaitlyn Colby (Merrimac, Mass.) fought back from dropping the first set 6-4, winning the second set 6-3 to force a super-tiebreaker. Amira Eid finally prevailed over Colby in a battle, 12-10, to complete the Charger victory.

Regis College (4-4, 3-2 GNAC) concludes the regular season against Lesley University at the Sky Pond Courts in Arlington, Mass., Saturday, Oct. 9, starting at 3 p.m. The Pride will then host a first round match in the GNAC Tournament next Wednesday, Oct. 13.
