Women’s Tennis Falls to Gordon

WENHAM, Mass. – The Regis College women's tennis team fell Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match against Gordon College at the Brigham Complex, 8-1. 

In doubles play, Gordon's Anne Carsey and Kaelyn Hall got the better of their opponents in first doubles. In second doubles, Gabrielle Brucker and Caitlin Kwok defeated Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) and Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) 8-6 in a hard-fought match. Gordon would finish the sweep with a victory in third doubles, 8-4.

In singles, Hall was victorious in her singles match 6-0, 6-0 putting the Scots up, 4-0. Donovan won the only point for the Pride with a straight set victory (6-1, 6-0) in first singles.

Gordon took sixth singles 6-0, 6-1 to clinch the team victory. The Fighting Scots also took the final three singles matches in the contest.

Gordon (13-6, 5-2 CCC) has completed the 2018-19 season after Wednesday's match.

Regis (13-8, 4-3 GNAC) has also concluded their season following their match against Gordon, finishing the year fourth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) during the fall championship season and winning a GNAC tournament first-round match.

Senior Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) wraps up her career with 52 career singles wins and leaves the Pride as the all-time leader in that category.  Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) also paired with Jarvis to become the all-time leader in doubles wins by a duo.
