Regis Women’s Tennis Loses in GNAC Tourney Semifinals

WINCHESTER, Mass. – Regis College, the fourth seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament, lost to top seed Colby-Sawyer College, 6-1, Saturday afternoon in the tournament semifinals at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Center.

The Pride's only point came from the number two doubles team of Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) and Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.), who earned their seventh win of the season without a loss with an 8-6 victory over Maddy Gemerek and Aislinn O'Connor.

Colby-Sawyer (9-2) earned victories at number one singles and number three singles to extend its lead to 4-1. The singles matches in the number five and six positions ended simultaneously in favor of the Chargers.

Regis's fall season ends with an 8-4 overall record. The Pride are scheduled to play five matches during the first week in March as part of a Spring Break trip to Florida, as well as home contests against Wentworth and UMass Boston later in the spring.
