Jarvis Breaks Record As Pride Sweep Clark

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's tennis team picked up a non-conference win Thursday, beating Clark University 9-0 at the Regis Tennis Center, as Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) took sole ownership of the school record for singles wins in a career.

The first point for the Pride came from the second doubles pairing of sisters Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Lauren Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.), who defeated Maggie Tarbox and Chloe Dunnell, 8-3. Jarvis and Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) would win their match in first doubles, 8-2. The Pride would also win the third doubles match, 9-8 (7-0).

Coming into singles play, Donovan would take home a point in her match at first singles (6-1, 6-0). The clinching point in the match would come from Ginger Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.), who defeated Kaylyn Landahl (6-0, 6-2). 

The last match of the day would be the second singles match where Jarvis would set the new record at 46 career wins with a straight-set victory (6-4, 7-5).

The Pride will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 6, when they travel to take on Colby-Sawyer. They will then play their final match of the fall in a Saturday, Oct. 13 matchup against the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales.
