Women’s Tennis Extends Winning Streak to Five

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's tennis team earned its fifth straight victory, defeating Albertus Magnus College, 8-1, Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup at the Regis Tennis Center.

The Pride swept the three doubles sets, including 8-0 victories with Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) and Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) at number two doubles and Kaeleigh FitzPatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) and Lauren Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) at number three doubles. Regis's number one doubles team of Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) and Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) were tested before finally pulling out an 8-6 victory.  

All five Regis singles victories came in straight sets, with four Pride players not losing a game in their match, beginning with Lauren Mogelnicki at number five singles. Ginger Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) clinched the match for the Pride at number six singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory, followed by similar wins from Katelyn Mogelnicki at fourth singles and Jarvis from third singles. Donovan lost only one game in winning from the number two singles position.

Regis (6-1, 4-1 GNAC) will play its final home match of the fall season Thursday, Oct. 4, against Clark University beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Regis Tennis Center.
