WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) of the Regis (Mass.) women's tennis team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. The award marks the first time ever that a player from the Pride has won a GNAC women's tennis weekly honor.

Donovan won at second doubles 8-0 then swept her No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-1 in the Pride’s only match of the week at University of Saint Joseph. The pair of victories propelled the Pride to a 7-2 win, the first GNAC win in program history.

Donovan and the Pride will be back in action on Wednesday when the team plays host to Suffolk University in conference action. Doubles play will get underway at 4:30 p.m. from the Regis Tennis Center.
