Women’s Tennis Picked To Finish 3rd In GNAC Preseason Poll

GNAC Release

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced the women’s tennis preseason order of finish with Regis (Mass.) predicted to finish third, as voted on by the league’s seven conference coaches.

The Top 3 predicted finish is certainly a sign of respect by the GNAC coaches of their newest member. The five-time NECC champion went 1-1 last fall against GNAC opponents, falling to defending champion and predicted No. 1 Johnson & Wales (RI) before edging Suffolk 5-4.

The Pride is coming off its best season in program history. The team marched through the NECC with a 6-0 record before finishing the year 16-1 which included an unprecedented 4-0 spring trip to Florida.

Johnson & Wales (RI) received four first-place votes with Simmons, picked for a runner-up finish, earning three first-place votes.

Regis opens the season Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Eastern Nazarene.
