WESTON, Mass. – Seeking to secure a first round-bye in this month's Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament, the Regis (Mass.) women's tennis team took care of business on Saturday, blanking Mount Ida 9-0 at the Regis Tennis Center.

The Pride (5-2, 4-1 GNAC) fell from the ranks of the unbeaten this past week but currently hold the No. 2 spot in the GNAC standings. Regis will look to secure the opening round bye next Saturday in its league finale at Albertus Magnus.

Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) and Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) registered the first point of the match, beating Ginger Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) and Cierra Peaslee (Killingly, Conn.) 8-1 on the one doubles court.

Gracie Jarest (Wrentham, Mass.) and Sara Kanarkiewicz (Peabody, Mass.) secured a lead after doubles with an 8-1 win at the three, then Carly Scanlon (Canton, Mass.) and Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) made it a clean doubles sweep, turning back Molly O'Donnell (Danvers, Mass.) and Yuliana Chairez (Waltham, Mass.) 8-3 at the two.

In singles, Donovan and Scanlon clinched the win with 6-1, 6-0 results on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts, respectively. DiPace was next to follow with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the four versus Chairez, and Kailey Myers (Norwalk, Calif.) closed out the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hannah Bassett (Needham, Mass.) on the No. 6 court.

Mount Ida (1-8, 0-4 GNAC) returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 11 hosting the University of Saint Joseph at 3:30 p.m.
