REGIS DROPS CONTESTS TO MORAVIAN

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis men's and women's Tennis teams both dropped their second spring break trip match to Moravian College on Tuesday morning.

Regis' women played another tough match in Orlando, losing 6 to 3 to the Greyhounds. Regis' second doubles team of Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) delivered the sole doubles point in a well-played match, 8-6. Jarvis, took her second point of the day at no. 4 singles, winning 6-3, 6-2. Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) won the Pride's third point of the match in a comeback, losing her first set, 2-6, rebounding for a 6-1 second set and then taking the match tiebreak with a score of 10-8. Senior, co-captain Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) provided some further excitement at fifth singles, losing her first set 4-6, winning the second set 6-3 but succumbing to her opponent in the match tiebreak 10-3.

The Regis men lost some of their first match jitters playing a solid contest against the Greyhounds before losing 6-3. Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) and Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) played inspired tennis in their 8-2 win in the second doubles spot. Polley, continued his effective play by delivering the Pride's second point of the match, a 6-2, 6-1 win at fourth singles. This was Polley's second consecutive singles for the team's spring break week. Quattrociocchi also came through for the Pride at third singles winning a nail-biter, splitting the first two sets, 6-4, 5-7 and coming through for the win in the match tiebreak, 10-6.

Both squads return to action on Wednesday against Cornell at 11:30 a.m.
