LORD NAMED NECC'S TOP PLAYER, JARVIS TOP ROOKIE

WESTON, Mass. – For the second-straight season, Regis College junior Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year in women's tennis, it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league offices. Freshman Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) was named the NECC Rookie of the Year, marking the second time a member of the Pride has earned that distinction.

Lord was joined on the All-Conference First Team Singles squad by Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.). Lord and Murphy were also named to the All-Conference Doubles First Team, as were Rice and Katasha Jarvis.

Jessie Lord becomes the second player to repeat as the NECC's top player after Abigail Wehr did it for the Pride in 2012 and 2013. Regis has earned at least a share of the NECC Player of the Year award for four straight seasons, while winning two of the last three NECC Rookie of the Year awards.

Murphy was 10-1 at No. 2 singles, while going a respectable 2-1 at No. 1 singles.
