WOMEN’S TENNIS ANNOUNCES INCOMING RECRUIT

WESTON, Mass. - Coach Ciarleglio and the Regis College women's tennis team are excited to welcome freshman, Katasha Jarvis (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) to the squad.

"We are looking forward to another competitive season in the NECC, while continuing solid play against our non-conference rivals. Our new player brings a serious level of commitment and adds to our depth at each position," said Coach Ciarleglio.

Katasha Jarvis has been playing tennis for six years now. Initially she started because her parents signed her up at the local club, but over the years she's developed a deep love for the game. This comment was certainly a major plus for Katasha when Coach Ciarleglio first asked her about her tennis background. Jarvis is a year-round player who is on the courts almost every day. She played on her high school varsity team sophomore through senior year, moving from No. 2 singles to No. 1 singles in her senior year. She takes clinics and lessons throughout the year as she works diligently to improve her competitiveness.

While Jarvis is clearly committed to tennis, she does find time for her other hobbies such as writing poetry, reading and listening to music. Her favorite music is country. Katasha chose Regis because of the close knit community Regis has. She is also very much looking forward to being part of the Regis women's team! Jarvis is interested in psychology and noted that Regis offers a strong program in this major.

The Regis women's tennis team travels to Eastern Nazarene College on September 3, 2015 to begin the season.
