RICE EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOD

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College sophomore Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference women's tennis Player of the Week, it was announced Monday morning.

Rice helped lead the Pride to their third-straight NECC Championship, and was named the Tournament MVP this past week. Rice recorded a pair of points in the Pride's 9-0 win over Becker in the NECC Semifinals, posting a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles and teaming with Erica Murphy for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Rice's 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles in the Championship match sealed the win for the Pride as they defeated Lesley University, 7-2. Rice was also named to the All-Tournament Singles team as well.

The Pride end the year by capturing their third-straight NECC Championship and finished the season on a nine game winning streak. Regis ended the year 11-1 and 8-0 in the conference, the crimson and gold also currently have a 26 match winning streak against conference opponents dating back to 2012.
