WESTON, Mass. – Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in women's tennis, it was announced on Monday morning. Rice helped lead the Pride (9-1, 8-0 NECC) to a 7-2 win over Mitchell last week.

Rice grabbed a pair of points in the Pride's victory against the Mariners, teaming with Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, and following that up with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.

Rice finished the regular season at 5-3 overall in singles play and 4-2 in league matches. She and Murphy went 4-2 as a doubles tandem, going 4-1 in the NECC.

Emily Rice and the Regis College women's tennis team will pursue their third-straight NECC Championship this weekend, starting with the Semifinals on Saturday afternoon.
