REGIS SWEEPS BECKER IN NECC MATCHUP

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College women's tennis team defeated Becker College, 9-0, in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup on Monday night in Weston, Mass. The Pride improve to 6-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the NECC, while the Hawks drop to 1-10 and 0-5 in league games.

In doubles play, the Pride swept all three matches as Kendall Kolb (Plymouth, Mass.) and Emily Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) defeated Jennifer Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and Jacqueline Andrade (Somerset, Mass.), 8-6 in No. 1 doubles. Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) posted an 8-0 win over Livia Smith (Worcester, Mass.) and Chenylle Mercado (Tyngsboro, Mass.) at No. 2 doubles.

The freshman duo of Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) and Sara Kanarkiewicz (Peabody, Mass.) teamed for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles over Dana Mahan (Manville, R.I.) and Jessica Guilbeault (Little Rock, Ark.).

Current NECC Player of the Week Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) defeated Jennifer Lord, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 1 singles, and Erica Murphy handed Jacqueline Andrade a 6-1, 6-0, setback at No. 2 singles. Morgenbesser swept Livia Smith in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles, while Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) defeated Mercado 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Melinda Mara (Pelham, N.H.) swept Guilbeault 6-0, 6-0.

Senior Kendall Kolb rallied to win in three sets against Dana Mahan, after dropping the opening set, 4-6. Kolb bounced back for a 6-4 win in the second game and completed the match with a 10-2 win in the final set.

Regis returns to action on Thursday afternoon when they host Lesley University at 5:00 p.m. Becker takes on Thursday as well, hosting Bay Path University at 3:00 p.m.
