WOMEN'S TENNIS GRABS PAIR OF NECC AWARDS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College junior Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference women's tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) has been named the Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday morning.

Medeiros helped lead the Pride to a pair of NECC wins this week. On Friday night, Medeiros grabbed a crucial point with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles in the Pride's 5-4 win over Lesley. On Saturday, Medeiros teamed with Jessie Lord for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles and added a 6- 0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles in an 8-1 victory for Regis over Bay Path.

DiPace was also a major contributor in both wins. Against Lesley, DiPace teamed with Kendall Kolb (Plymouth, Mass.) for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles and then picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles in the win over Lesley. Against Bay Path, DiPace posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. This is DiPace's second Rookie of the Week honor.

Regis College returns to action on Saturday afternoon when the Pride host Mitchell College as a part of Pride Fest at 1:00 p.m.
