PRIDE STAY UNBEATEN IN NECC ACTION

WESTON, Mass. - In a rematch of the 2013 New England Collegiate Conference Championship match, Regis College defeated Bay Path University, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon in NECC women's tennis action in Weston, Mass. The Pride improve to 4-1 on the year and 3-0 in league matches, while Bay Path falls to 2-4 and 1-1 in the NECC.

In doubles play, the Pride grabbbebd two early points with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) posted an 8-1 win over Stephanie Morin (Springfield, Mass.) and Abigail Janneke (Waterbury, Conn.). Kendall Kolb (Plymouth, Mass.) and Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) grabbed the other doubles win with an 8-2 win. Bay Path's lone point of the match came at No. 2 doubles as Brittany Walsh (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Taylor Wood (Castleton, N.Y.) defeated Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Sara Kanarkiewicz (Peabody, Mass.), 8-4.

The Pride swept singles play as Jessie Lord picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over Stephanie Morin. Emily Rice followed with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles, while Emily Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) added a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.

Erica Murphy, Jewel Medeiros, and Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) each added wins at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Regis returns to action next Saturday when the Pride hosts Mitchell College as a part of Pride Fest weekend at 1:00 p.m. Bay Path takes on the Mariners on Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
