WESTON, Mass. – Sophomore Abbie Wehr (Suwanee, Ga.) and freshman Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) of the Regis College women's tennis team have been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Both played a critical role in helping lead the Pride to capturing the 2013 NECC Championship, the program's second title in as many years.

Wehr was a perfect 4-0 in her matches during Tournament play, which included a 9-0 sweep of Becker in the Semifinals and 7-2 win over Bay Path in the Finals. The sophomore was named to both the All-Tournament Singles and Doubles teams for her efforts.

Rice, who was also an unblemished 4-0 throughout the Semifinals and Championship, was named the NECC Tournament MVP and named to the All-Tournament Doubles team with Wehr.

Wehr and Rice conclude the fall season at 12-1 overall at No. 1 doubles. Wehr was 12-1 at No. 1 singles, while Rice finished at 11-2 at second doubles for the Pride (11-2).
