WESTON, Mass. – For the second time this season, Regis College freshman Abigail Wehr (Suwanee, Ga.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference's Rookie of the Week for women's tennis, it was announced this morning by the league office. Wehr helped lead the Pride to a 2-0 mark in a pair of NECC contests last week.

Abigail Wehr went a perfect 4-0 in her matches last week to help the Pride remain perfect (4-0, 3-0 NECC) on the year.

In the first match of the week against Lesley, Wehr teamed with Jazz Hicks (Plymouth, Mass.) to post an 8-2 win in No. 1 doubles, and then the freshman posted a 6-1, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles to help the Pride to a 9-0 win over the Lynx. Wehr followed that up with a 6-4, 6-5 win at No. 1 singles against Bay Path, while teaming with Hicks to post an 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles in the Pride's 5-4 victory over the Wildcats.

Wehr is currently a perfect 4-0 in all of her No. 1 singles matches this year, while she and Hicks have the same mark in No. 1 doubles.

Abigail Wehr and the Regis College Pride return to action on Monday night when the Crimson and Gold host Eastern Nazarene College in a 5:00 p.m. non-league matchup.
