WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Abigail Wehr (Suwanee, Ga.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for women's tennis this week. Wehr picked up a pair of points for the Pride (1-0) in Regis' 8-1 victory over Mount Ida last weekend.

In her first collegiate match on Saturday afternoon, Wehr and classmate Jazz Hicks took home an 8-1 decision at No. 1 doubles, and then Wehr followed that up with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No.1 singles for her first collegiate wins.

Wehr and the Regis tennis team return to the courts on Saturday, September 15th when the Pride travels to Becker College to open the NECC regular season schedule in a 12:00 p.m. match.
