WOMEN’S TENNIS TABBED FOURTH IN NECC POLL

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's tennis team was selected to finish fourth in the New England Collegiate Conference preseason poll, which was released Monday afternoon. Standings are determined based on a vote by the league's head coaches.

The Pride, who lost to Becker in the 2011 NECC Semifinal, picked up 24 points in the poll and will look to improve upon their 5-12 overall record and 5-5 conference mark from last season. Regis will look for leadership from junior captain Caroline Roche (Hanover, Mass.), who won three singles matches in the 2011 season.

Becker was selected to finish first in the conference after earning 30 points and three first place votes. Bay Path came in at second place with 29 points, with Lesley placing third after picking up 25. Newbury and Mitchell rounded out the bottom two spots, respectively.
