WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Jazz Hicks (Plymouth, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for women's tennis this week. Hicks picked up a pair of points for the Pride (2-0, 1-0 NECC) in Regis' 8-1 victory over Becker College on Saturday.

Hicks teamed with Abigail Wehr (Suwanee, Ga.) to post a 9-7 win in No. 1 doubles and followed that up with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Kathleen Razzaboni in No. 2 singles for her second point of the day. Hicks' serving was a major factor in her and Wehr's win at doubles, and followed that up with a balanced victory in singles play to help Regis knock off the preseason favorite Hawks.

The Pride returns to action on Thursday afternoon as Regis hosts Lesley University in an NECC match at 5:00 p.m.
