HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Regis College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Emory & Henry College on Tuesday afternoon in Hilton Head, S.C. The Pride fall to 13-3 on the year and return to action on Friday morning with an 11:30 a.m. matchup with Wittenberg.

The Wasps took an early 3-0 advantage following doubles play as Alyssa Wingate and Taylor Evans defeated Abigail Wehr (Suwanee, Ga.) and Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.), 8-0, at No. 1 doubles. Meredith Yeary and Emily Bolt posted an 8-3 win over Caroline Roche (Hanover, Mass.) and Erika Palmer (Southborough, Mass.) in No. 2 doubles, while Sheyenne Cleveland and Casey Blackburn won their No. 3 doubles matchup with Kendall Kolb (Plymouth, Mass.) and Melinda Mara (Pelham, N.H.), 8-4.

Emory & Henry continued their strong play in singles play, taking all six singles decisions to win, 9-0. Alyssa Wingate and Taylor Evans posted matching 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, while Meredith Yeary defeated Caroline Roche, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Emily Bolt handed Erika Palmer a 6-0, 6-2 setback in No. 4 singles, and Blair Brabson and Sheyenne Cleveland rounded out singles play with straight-set wins in No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
