Weston, Mass.--The 2010 Regis College Women's tennis team opens up its fall season Thursday, Sept. 2 against Becker College. The Pride is led by returning captains, Alexandria Kuchera (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) and Mary Jane Barron (Whitinsville, Mass./ Holy Name). Kuchera returns for her senior season after posting a 2-7 record against The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponents in 2009.  Barron, a junior, returns after finishing with a record of 0-10 last season.  Sophomore Caitlin Fitzgerald (Lynn, Mass./St. Mary's-Lynn) returns to the Pride after a 2-7 record in 2009.

The Hawks enter the contest as reigning New England Collegiate Conference champions. Key returners for Becker include, senior Danielle Stryker (Ledyard, Conn./ Ledyard.) and Junior Laura Mimms (Ashland, Mass./Ashland). Stryker returns for the 2010 season after compiling an impressive 17-1 record in 2009.  Mimms returns to the Hawks after completing a 7-1 record in the NECC last season.

The matches are being held at the Regis College Athletic field and will start at 4:00pm.
