Regis Swim and Dive Team Battles at Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Regis College swimming and diving team continued its 2022-23 season with a double-dual meet against Norwich University and Babson College Saturday, hosted by the Cadets.

The lone overall event victory for the Pride came in the six-dive one meter diving event, as Cashman Murphy (Westwood, Mass.) finishing first with a score of 223.50. Murphy also finished second in the five-dive event with a total score of 148.35, just nine points behind Norwich's Reilly Laitala.

After anchoring the 200 medley relay for the Pride, Olivia Roux (Sanford, Maine) touched the wall second in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 37.51 seconds, plus she finished third in the 50 freestyle in 27.67 seconds. Riley Aptt (Woburn, Mass.) finished third in both the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:30.01 and the 50 butterfly in 30.81 seconds.

Right behind Aptt in the 50 butterfly was Megan Miller (Quincy, Mass.) in fourth place with a time of 30.94 seconds. Earlier in the meet, Miller touched the wall third in the 50 backstroke with a time of 31.83 seconds. Olivia Luhnau (Denver, Colo.) finished third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:18.13, plus she placed fourth in the 100 individual medley in 1:09.74.

For the men, Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) finished fifth in the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.99 seconds, while Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) touched the wall fifth in the 50 breaststroke in 29.83 seconds. Cody Werner (Bettendorf, Iowa) finished fifth overall in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.49 seconds, and Michael Curtis (Burlington, Mass.) placed sixth in both the five-dive (86.90) and six-dive (123.45) one meter diving events, missing his own school record in the six-dive event by 0.70 points.

Regis College will host Saint Joseph's College in a dual meet next Saturday, Nov. 19, starting at 11 a.m. at the Regis Pool.
