WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College swimming and diving teams got the weekend off to a solid start, as both the men (86-21) and women (151-22) defeated Elms College Friday night in a dual meet at the Regis Pool.

For the Pride women, Olivia Luhnau (Denver, Colo.) finished first in both the 100 backstroke in 1:06.05 and the 50 freestyle in a season-best time of 26.30 seconds. Julia Burke (Barrington, N.H.) picked up victories in the 50 breaststroke in 32.44 seconds and the 200 breaststroke in 2:40.00, both season-best times, while Kyleigh Boatwright (Roseville, Calif.) touched the wall first in the 200 backstroke in 2:21.22 and the 100 individual medley in 1:05.97, also season-best marks.

Other event victories included Cecelia Adelfio (Gloucester, Mass.) in the 200 freestyle with a season-best time of 2:10.94, Mallytza Ibarra Davila (Yuma, Ariz.) in the 100 freestyle in 1:00.72, just 23/100ths of a second off her collegiate best mark, and Riley Aptt (Woburn, Mass.) in the 100 butterfly in 1:07.44. Aptt also completed the 1650 freestyle in 20:25.47.

On the men's side, Brendan Pike (Weymouth, Mass.) finished first in the 50 breaststroke in 29.72 seconds and the 100 individual medley in 58.38 seconds, both season-best times. Robert Wood (Cathedral City, Calif.) finished first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.46 seconds, plus he completed the 200 freestyle in 2:01.14.

Sam Madriz (Union, N.J.) finished the 200 butterfly in 2:16.48, plus he ended up in second place behind only Wood in the 100 freestyle in 55.95 seconds. The meet concluded with Pike, Bryce Toumayan-Miller (Natick, Mass.), Madriz, and Wood completing the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:54.23.

Regis College will have a quick turnaround to its next meet, hosting Husson University Saturday, Dec. 4, starting at 10 a.m. Elms College is off until the new year, traveling to face Norwich University Saturday, Jan. 8 beginning at 12 p.m.
