Elisabeth McQuaid Named NEISDA Diver of Week

WESTON, Mass. – With a record-setting performance this past Saturday at Bridgewater State, junior Elisabeth McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) has been named the Diver of the Week by the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA), announced Wednesday by the organization of coaches.

McQuaid finished first in both diving events Saturday to help the Pride nearly defeat host Bridgewater State and cruise to a dual meet victory over Eastern Connecticut State. She ended up atop the standings in the one-meter diving event with 233.70 points, breaking her own school record of 231.25 points set last year. McQuaid went on to win the three-meter diving event with 210.05 points, just 0.45 points off her personal best.

With McQuaid's honor, Regis has now claimed at least one of the NEISDA weekly awards in three straight weeks. GianCarlos Banrey (Roslindale, Mass.) and Sarah Leonard (Brockton, Mass.) were named Male and Female Swimmer of the Week two weeks ago, and Joshua Unas (Santa Clarita, Calif.) picked up NEISDA Male Swimmer of the Week last week.

Regis College hosts Gordon College at the Regis Athletics Center Pool Saturday, Nov. 3, starting at 11 a.m.
