Alex Vokes Macpherson joined the Regis Athletics staff as head coach of the women's soccer program during the summer of 2022 and enters his fourth season at the helm in 2025.

Set new single-season conference victory mark (9) in his first season at the helm (2022). 

Prior to Regis:

From 2019 to 2021, Vokes Macpherson served as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the UMass Lowell women’s soccer program. He was part of the 2020–21 America East Coaching Staff of the Year and helped the team host the America East Tournament while earning four major conference awards during his tenure.

Prior to UMass Lowell, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Boston University, where he contributed to the team’s 2018 Patriot League Championship and NCAA College Cup appearance. He was part of the 2018 Patriot League Coaching Staff of the Year and coached standout defender Rachel Bloznalis, the 2017 Patriot League Defender of the Year, who later played professionally for Djurgårdens IF (Sweden), represented the U-23 USWNT, and returned to BU as an assistant coach.

He also worked as an International Partnership Executive with Celtic Football Club, implementing youth academy methodologies across North American partner clubs to elevate player development.

Earlier in his career, he served as assistant coach and interim head coach for the Wentworth Institute of Technology women’s soccer team. He helped lead the program to its first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship in 2016 and an NCAA Tournament victory over nationally ranked Arcadia. He coached multiple All-Region players, including First Team honoree Mary Pastorelli and Third Team selections Morgan Miller and Emily Richard.

He began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Franklin Pierce University, helping guide the team to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship semifinal.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design – Nottingham Trent University (England)
  • MBA in Sports Management – Franklin Pierce University (2016)
  • A holder of UEFA, USSF, and LMA coaching qualifications.

Personal:

Alex currently lives in Shrewsbury, Mass., with his wife Chelsie and their dog Echo.
