Pride Women’s Soccer Places Five on CSC Academic All-District® Team

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College women's soccer team is once again represented on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, as five members of the Pride have been selected, announced Tuesday, Nov. 21, by the national organization.

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® Teams program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Women's Soccer Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's contests or started in at least 66 percent of those contests.

Senior midfielder Payton Bridge (Norton, Mass.) earns her second Academic All-District® honor as she continues to add to her virtual trophy case. A Third Team All-GNAC selection this year, Bridge started all 18 matches and was called upon to be a steady presence as the play transitioned from defense to offense. She converted on penalty kick opportunities three times and was on the pitch all 90 minutes on 13 occasions, averaging close to 87 minutes per match.

Sophomore midfielder Meadow Comeiro (Woburn, Mass.) appeared in all 18 matches for the Pride, starting 17 contests to help Regis qualify for the GNAC Women's Soccer Tournament as the fifth seed. She scored a goal against New England College Sept. 20 and picked up assists at Rivier Oct. 7, against Norwich Oct. 11, and against Simmons Oct. 21. Comeiro averaged 79.7 minutes per match on the field and remained on the pitch all 90 minutes on seven occasions.

Senior defender Elisa D'Sa (Bellmore, N.Y.) is also receiving her second Academic All-District® award for women's soccer after playing a significant role within a Pride defense that allowed just one goal per match. D'Sa collected Second Team All-GNAC accolades this season as she started all 15 matches she appeared in, featuring five shutouts. She was on the field the entire 90 minutes 10 times and played at least 75 minutes in 14 of the 15 contests, averaging 85.5 minutes per match.

Sophomore midfielder Maeve Glavin (Norwood, Mass.) made significant improvement during her second season in the program, starting 15 of the 16 matches she appeared in for the Pride. She assisted on the game-tying goal against Albertus Magnus Sept. 18 before scoring a goal against Mitchell Sept. 23. Glavin collected a goal and an assist twice: against Norwich Oct. 11 and in the GNAC Tournament quarterfinal at Colby-Sawyer Oct. 28.

Senior Samantha Perkins (Whitman, Mass.) returned to the pitch Sept. 6 against Emmanuel after a season-ending injury in 2022, coming off the bench in her first four appearances. She started the last 12 matches for the Pride, averaging 79.8 minutes per match on the field in those contests, including 87.5 minutes per contest in the last nine matches. The two-time team captain scored goals at Rivier Oct. 7 and against Simmons Oct. 21, plus she earned assists against New England College Sept. 20 and against Norwich Oct. 11.

Bridge, also a team captain in 2023, is on track to receive her bachelor's degree in elementary education and humanities, while Comeiro, D'Sa, Glavin, and Perkins are all nursing majors. All five student-athletes carry a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.60.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in early December.
