Women's Soccer Salvages 2-2 Tie with Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. – Regis College played to a 2-2 tie with Rivier University after 90 minutes of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer matchup on Saturday.

The Raiders offense applied pressure quickly into the match, with the first goal scored by Olivia Maxwell less than a minute and a half after kickoff. The Pride quickly applied offensive pressure following the goal, outshooting the Raiders in the first half, 11-5.

In the 76th minute, the Pride were able to tie the game as Delaney Scanlon (Dracut, Mass.) redirected a corner kick from Meadow Comeiro (Woburn, Mass.) into the net. The second goal for Regis was scored less than seven minutes by Samantha Perkins (Whitman, Mass.) off another corner kick.

Just over three minutes later, the Raider defense transitioned the ball up to their offense, where Jordan Butters scored the final goal of the match with an assist from Olivia Maxwell, creating the tie.

The Pride are scheduled to host conference rival Norwich University on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 5:00 p.m., with the match designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Night.
