WESTON, Mass. - In a tight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's collegiate soccer match, Regis College took the lead midway through the second half, but Saint Joseph's College was able to score the equalizing goal with less than eight minutes remaining in regulation as the Pride and the Monks ended up in a 1-1 tie Friday night at Regis Stadium.

As the match moved into the 70^th minute, Mia Fusco (Winchester, Mass.) sent a thru ball from midfield towards the Monk net. Avary Hall (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) was able to gather the ball while in stride, use her speed to get ahead of the Saint Joseph's defense, and blast a shot into the net for her first career collegiate goal to put the Pride on top.

Saint Joseph's increased its offensive pressure, highlighted by a shot from Eliese Perron in the 73^rd minute that was turned away by Pride keeper Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.). In the 83^rd minute, Perron sent the ball from the right side of the field towards the net, and Jordan Huntley was able to redirect the ball from the left post just over the goal line for the game-tying tally.

Regis responded off the ensuing kickoff, as Hall once again used her speed to quickly gain possession close to the Monk goal, but her shot was stopped by Saint Joseph's goalie Carly Downey. The Pride took a couple more shots that were off-target before the final buzzer.

The Monks enjoyed a slight 16-13 shot advantage, led by Aaliyah WilsonFalcone with seven total shots. Hall paced the Pride with five total shots, including three shots on goal, and Regis ended with a slight 5-4 edge in corner kicks.

Mazo finished with five saves while Downey collected three saves as each goalkeeper was credited with the tie.

Regis College (1-3-1, 0-2-1 GNAC) resumes its match Monday, Sept. 18, at 4 p.m. against Albertus Magnus that was suspended last Saturday, Sept. 9, due to lightning. Saint Joseph's College (2-3-1, 2-1-1 GNAC) travels to face Johnson and Wales next Wednesday, Sept. 20, beginning at 7 p.m.
