Women’s Soccer Sees Four Players Receive GNAC Postseason Awards

WINTHROP, Mass. – Thanks to a record-setting season, senior Miya Nishibun (Honolulu, Hawaii) received Second Team All-GNAC honors, while teammates Hailey Lovell (Wakefield, Mass.) and Kerri Urquhart (Burlington, Mass.) picked up Third Team All-GNAC recognition and goalkeeper Ori Attridge (Westwood, Mass.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced the women's soccer postseason awards Monday.

Nishibun broke the Regis single-season record for goals with 13 this season, all of them coming against conference opponents. She notched the first hat trick in five years with three goals against Dean Sept. 11, followed by another three-goal effort at Colby-Sawyer Sept. 22. Nishibun earned her third hat trick of the season against Norwich Oct. 2, believed to be the first time a Regis player has posted three hat tricks in one season.

In addition, Nishibun scored two goals both against Emmanuel Sept. 25 and against Anna Maria Sept. 29. A two-time GNAC Player of the Week, the senior tied the program's single-season points record with 28 total points as she collected assists on the game-tying goal at Rhode Island College Sept. 15 and against University of Saint Joseph Oct. 20.

Lovell finished with three goals for the Pride, plus she led the team with 61 total shots, including 33 shots on goal. All three of Lovell's goals occurred in GNAC road contests, including tallies at Dean Sept. 11 and at Colby-Sawyer Sept. 22. On Oct. 16, she scored the game-tying goal with 10:26 remaining in regulation as Regis went on to play Elms to a 2-2 draw.

Urquhart has been a mainstay in the Pride backline throughout her collegiate career, capping it by starting all 16 matches for the Pride in 2021. She helped Regis post five shutouts during the year, all of them against conference opponents, plus she scored a goal at Colby-Sawyer Sept. 22. She also picked up her fourth career assist during the Pride's 3-0 victory at Anna Maria Sept. 29.

Attridge concluded a stellar career as one of the Pride's goalkeepers, starting 13 matches in net during the past season. She finished with 18 career victories, second on the Regis all-time wins list, including seven victories in 2021, tied for fifth on the Pride's single-season wins list. Attridge represents the women's soccer team on the Regis Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as SAAC vice president this year.

Regis College posted an 8-6-2 overall record this season, including a 7-4-2 mark within the highly-competitive GNAC to end up in a tie for sixth place in the regular season standings.
