Pride Women’s Soccer Receives USC Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Regis College women's soccer team continues to show its exemplary performance in the classroom, as the squad is one of the recipients of the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year, announced Thursday, Sept. 23, by the national organization.

The program has been honored with the award 13 times since 2004, including four of the last five years and eight of the previous 11 years. The team posted a 3.68 grade point average, easily earning the award as the minimum GPA needed is 3.0.

In total, 385 women's soccer programs across all divisions of the NCAA and NAIA were recognized, including four teams from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference: Albertus Magnus, Colby-Sawyer, Regis, and Simmons.

The Regis women's soccer program has established a tradition of high academic performance, as the team has been the recipient of the Judith W. Burling Team Award for Academic Excellence in each of the last three years. This past June, 20 members of the 2020-21 roster earned Academic All-GNAC honors for maintaining at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.

Regis College (4-2, 3-1 GNAC) travels to Paxton, Mass., to face Anna Maria College Wednesday, Sept. 29, starting at 7 p.m. The Pride then return home to face Norwich University Saturday, Oct. 2, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
