FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Framingham State scored a goal in each half to send the Regis (Mass.) women's soccer team to the offseason with a 2-0 season finale loss Tuesday at Maple Street Field. The Pride close the season at 5-10-1 while the Rams improve to 5-10-1.
The Rams got on the board in the 35th minute when Kaleigh Pallotta (Hanover, Mass.) scored off a free kick from about 25 yards out tucked into the left corner.
In the 66th minute the Rams struck again when Kayla Almstrom (Auburn, Mass.) buried a long strike from more than 20 yards out off a pass from Shelly Nardi (Williamsburg, Mass.).
Kyrsten Drake (Loganville, Ga.) made 10 saves in net for the Pride in the two-goal defeat with FSU keeper Jennifer Stevens (Hopkinton, Mass.) posting nine.
The Rams outshot the Pride 23-to-16 in the game. Neither team recorded a corner kick opportunity.
