ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Rachel Kelly (Whitman, Mass.) kicked off her collegiate career with a bang. Her two goals this past Saturday helped Regis (Mass.) secure a 3-1 opening day win at Mount Ida and earned her NECC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week honors. The announcement came Monday by the New England Collegiate Conference office.

Kelly scored what proved to be the eventual game-winning goal in the first half. In the 84th minute, she capped the scoring with an insurance goal as Regis edged the Mustangs in its lone match of the week.

The Pride play its home opener this Thursday, Sept. 8. Kick off at Regis Stadium is set for 4:00 p.m.
