HAWKS CLIP PRIDE, 2-1

LEICESTER, Mass. - Becker College held on for a 2-1 victory over Regis College in New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. The win lifts the Hawks record to 11-3-0 (4-1-0 NECC), while the Pride fall to 4-8-2 (2-2-1 NECC.)

Regis got on the board in the 18th minute when Tais Salles (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) fed Hannah Bouvette (Mattapoiseett, Mass.) down the middle of the field for a breakaway goal. The Hawks had a chance to tie the game with 13:07 remaining in the first half when Alison Mosdale (Marlborough, Conn.) broke past the Pride defense, but Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) made a tremendous driving save to preserve the 1-0 lead.

In the 46th minute, freshman Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass.) tied the game with a header on a throw-in from Alison Mosdale. Becker took the lead for good in the 60th minute when Lauren Zaleski (Avon, Mass.) kicked a loose ball out of midair, into the Regis net.

Jordyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass.) earned the victory after making five stops, while Rachel Gagnon kept the Pride in the game with 12 saves.

Both teams return to the pitch on Tuesday, October 20th. Regis will host Wheelock College on Senior Night at 5:00 p.m., while Becker welcomes Southern Vermont to Alumni Field for a 6:00 p.m. start.
