WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's soccer team was selected to finish third in the New England Collegiate Conference according to the 2015 NECC Women's Soccer Coaches Poll. The Pride received 78 points in a poll conducted by league head coaches.
Head Coach Alex Petrie takes over the program that has made four straight NECC Tournament appearances. Last year, the Pride had their best record in program history finishing 11-6-2 and made their second consecutive appearance in the NECC Semifinals.
Regis is returning 13 players from last season's record setting squad including All-NECC selections Joana Rosa (Roxbury, Mass.), Hannah Bouvette (Mattapoisett, Mass.), Tais Salles (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.)
Rounding out the preseason polls was Lesley who received eight first place votes, Elms who received two first place votes, Southern Vermont, Becker, Newbury, Mitchell, Bay Path, Wheelock and Daniel Webster.
